The Australian Youth Climate Coalition is running a Climate Change and sustainability leadership-training day in Newcastle. This free event aims to educate, inspire and empower young people to take action on Climate Change in the Newcastle community. Participants will learn skills from experienced youth climate leaders in the areas of climate science, communications, organising, leadership and teamwork.
The AYCC invites young people between the ages of 16 and 29 in the Newcastle and Hunter areas to attend this event. The training will help kick start the establishment of a Newcastle-Hunter AYCC group for 2011. This group will run local community projects, work with high schools to become more sustainable and take part in national AYCC campaigns. They will become part of the biggest youth organisation in Australia dedicated to building a generation wide movement to solve the climate crisis.
