Transition Sydney - is a group of Sydney people whose concern about the impact that climate change, fossil fuel depletion, and collapsing global trade and financial systems will have on our way of life calls us to do something practical about it. Action is needed at the local level to help communities transition to the new realities these forces will bring and to build their own local resilience, and it starts with a few people getting together and deciding to do something in their local area. Its aim is to be both a catalyst, a partner and an ongoing resource centre for local transition initiatives across the Sydney bioregion.
The Live Local website documents neighbourhood "experiments", stories about your experiences and adventures meeting neighbours, discovering neighbourhoods, improving your local economy, saving energy and making our air and water cleaner. Add text, photos and videos and see similar projects that provide new ideas and inspirations to make communities better while having fun.
If your sustainable or positive community group has similar goals to Transition Newcastle, post a comment and we may add it to the site in an appropriate place, or keep it for the Energy Descent Plan. Describe a little about your organisation, and any link to your website.
