Now that the dam plan has been ditched our focus is to secure the protection of the Williams River, ensure proper land use for the Williams Valley and to proceed with the future Water Planning Strategy as outlined by Premier Keneally. We are also lobbying for compensation for the Dungog community for the loss of business and hardship caused to the region by the dam plan announcement and inordinate lead time (4 years or 20 or 50 years depending upon how you want to measure it!) due to the lack of prior good planning by government and Hunter Water.
