Eco Local Calendar

Organisation:
Transition Newcastle

I was getting very frustrated about missing out on some fabulous sustainable events because I didn't see the email or I didn't check the date or I'd already committed to something else.  I found myself wishing that there was a place I could go and see all the things that might interest me, and so an idea was hatched.

Thanks to the unstoppable Tom Toogood from Permaculture Hunter Region we sourced a small grant from Adamstown Uniting Church which helped the project along and included our Eco Local Directory of like-minded organisations.

It feels like it's taken forever but this project is nearing completion. The calendar has been up and running for several months, with numerous people and organisations adding their own events.

To make it truly successful however we need everyone to contribute so that we develop a comprehensive snapshot of what's on in our own backyard. It also helps people plan events so that they don't clash with each other.

So if you're involved in any sustainable events, make sure they're in our calendar.
